Website design examples

Here are one-page websites we have built for made-up businesses. See each one on a computer, a tablet and a phone, and read why it looks the way it does.

About the examples

How the examples are made

The businesses in these examples do not exist. Their names are made up, and the text and pictures are examples. The designs are ones we could build for you, with your own text and photos.

Kestlow Building, a design example, on a computer
Design exampleBuilding and renovation, Stockport

Kestlow Building

A website for a building firm. The photo gets plenty of room, the services are easy to scan, and the quote request is never far away on a phone.

Typography
A classic serif for the name and the headings, and an easy-to-read sans for the text. The fonts are served from the same server as the page.
Colours
Forest green against light stone and sand tones. Calm and natural, like a well-built house.
Phone first
On a phone, the buttons to call and email stay fixed at the bottom of the screen, and the page works as well on a tablet as on a computer.

Oakhallow Renovation, a design example, on a computer
Design exampleBuilding and renovation, Manchester

Oakhallow Renovation

A website for a renovation firm. The first screen is dark, with a large photo of a wooden staircase, and the rest of the page is light and airy, with plenty of room for photos.

Typography
One modern typeface for the headings and the text, with large headings and plenty of space. The font is served from the same server as the page.
Colours
Warm charcoal and light stone tones. The photos take centre stage, and the firm's own colour shows only in small details.
Movement
As you scroll, the steps of a job stack on top of each other as cards, on a computer and a tablet. It works without JavaScript.

Wenmoor Dental, a design example, on a computer
Design exampleDental care, Harrogate

Wenmoor Dental

A website for a dental practice. Light and airy, with a large photo across the whole first screen and clear steps for how a visit works.

Typography
One modern typeface, tight in the headings and easy to read in the text. The font is served from the same server as the page.
Colours
White, light grey and a muted blue-green. Clean and bright, like a modern practice.
Practice details
The footer shows the practice details the GDC's guidance on advertising lists for a practice website, and says the practice is wholly private. On a real practice's site, any dentist it names appears with their GDC number, and clear prices are shown, as the GDC's Standards ask. This example leaves both out because the practice is made up.

Colours
Warm cream in three tones and a muted terracotta. Soft and welcoming, like a calm salon.
Booking

Corlbeck Homes, a design example, on a computer
Design exampleHomes to let, Leeds

Corlbeck Homes

A website for a landlord. A large evening photo on the first screen, the services in a list beside a photo, and a clear way to get in touch.

A modern sans in two versions, one for the headings and one for the text. The fonts are served from the same server as the page.
Colours
Light grey, white and a deep navy. Calm and clear, with the photos in focus.

FAQ

Questions about the examples

No. The businesses are made up, and the text and pictures are examples. When we chose the names on 26 October 2026, Companies House and a web search showed no business using them. The phone number comes from a range Ofcom keeps for TV and radio drama, so it reaches no one.
